Erskine HONED with Green/Blue Aggregate

OHANA

stonekast was proud to be involved in The Ohana Garden by Georgia Harper (GHLD) and The Garden Company for the Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show (MIFGS). Georgia approached stonekast with the warning her unapologetically kitsch Hawaiian theme for the garden would be polarizing.  Georgia wanted the concrete elements to be connected to the theme, beautifully detailed in their execution, but understated so as to complement rather than distract from the bolder themed elements, namely the shimmering mosaic of surfing Leilani and the cobalt blue table and fire feature.

stonekast’s owner, Craig Bourne, worked with Georgia to develop a bespoke “wave” paver and complementary curved rebate and cladding products.  The HONED texture was chosen in Erskine – with feature ‘sea glass’ blue/green aggregate added for the cladding and bench.  Craig commented  “we want to showcase our capabilities, new texture and the attention to detail you can achieve working with a local design-led company”.

Georgia is a favorite with the team at stonekast – she is lots of fun, loves concrete and has a collaborative approach that challenges and harnesses the creativity and expertise from her contributing suppliers.  The Garden Company and The Pool Company were also a pleasure to deal with – they are a great team who remained professional and positive in the challenging environment of a MIFGS build.
